On Princes Street, opposite the Scott Monument and National Gallery, Mercure Edinburgh City - Princes Street Hotel has an excellent location, a friendly atmosphere and views of Edinburgh Castle.

Loved the room and hotel decor (see pic of wall art by elevators), the beds were comfy, the standard twin room was bigger and better laid out than our other twin hotels in Edinburgh and Portree, and the price for two weekend nights was much better than other well-located hotels charged. The restaurant was beautiful (see pic) and offered a great view of the Scott Monument and the Castle. The staff was courteous and friendly. Location on Princes St across from the Scott Monument and a two minute walk from Waverly Station and St Andrew's Square was very convenient. I will be staying at this hotel again.
