The position is wonderful. The atmosphere easy and warm . The room was comfortable.
From our country house hotel by the sea, the only thing we overlook is the bay. Our spectacular clifftop location offers a 180 degree sea view over Carlyon Bay.

This was the best stay my husband and I had on our honeymoon in Cornwall. Charlestown is very quaint and the Rashleigh Staff upgraded us to a larger room than we had booked. We arrived all wet on a rainy afternoon and it was so amazing to turn the heat up, take hot showers, and relax over the tea provided in the bathrobes that were left in our room! We slept so well in the comfortable king sized bed and didn't want to leave.
We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and thought the food and service were quite good. We are both gluten free and they had a lot of options that worked for us.

We came to meet up with family at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, just for the day, which were wonderful. We did not visit the beach or any other facility. We returned to our holiday destination in North Devon the same day.

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel.
We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.
Good size bedrooms and nice bathrooms. Wi-fi worked well for me and I needed to work while there so that was very important. Nice location with 15 min walk into harbour where you could find a few nice restaurants to eat in. Would recommend The Longstore for dinner, The Cellar for drinks and The Boathouse for a nice lunch in the garden. Good size Tesco and Lidl 3 mins drive and Aldi and Asda close by too. We had a nice chinese delivered from Chinese Wok - Saint Austell one night as well.
Great comfortable clean hotel . Excellent staff nothing is to much trouble. Room was lovely and spacious and just the right temperature. Food was excellent lots of choice for breakfast. Evening meals excellent lots of choice and well presented. Sunday lunch great choice , lovely fresh cooked vegetables and tender meat. Lynn and her team go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. We would like to thank A special mention for Andrew who was excellent duty manager.
Breakfast was exceptional - good variety on menu and well presented. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The location was convenient for walking into the town centre and the hotel made a good base for visiting attractions such as Charlestown, Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as resorts of Mevagissy and the Padstow area. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and knowlegeable about the area
The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay very much. the night we checked in there was even a live jazz performance at the pub which was perfect. the room is not very big but functional and they give you everything you need, very clean and recently renovated from what I could tell. bed was comfy (my partner usually has trouble with hotel pillows but slept well here).
It was nice to have a friendly welcome on arrival. The hotel is lovely and quiet even though it's close to the town centre. I had a very comfortable, warm room and really comfortable bed I had a wonderful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked English breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. I would definitely come again.
We loved the location of our Hotel. The Breakfast was excellent. We had a slight problem with our TV Aerial but that was quickly sorted out by the Hotel Manager. Every staff member was polite and courteous, excellent service we could not fault anything and would stay there again.
Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely.
For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food.
For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
Exceptional hotel and restaurant. Very clean and tidy. Rooms were large, well decorated and clean. Evening meal was fabulous. Great menu with great chefs and staff. Would recommend. Good value for Monday. Will definitely stay again.
We loved our 2 night stay in our beautiful sea view room.
The hotel was immaculate and staff professional and friendly.
Breakfast, food, cocktails and spa were all perfect.
Thank you
Very friendly and helpful staff. Always cheerful.
We had a sea/harbour view room and the view was wonderful.
Very pretty village. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
So lovely. We’d stayed in 4 other hotels on this trip (full hotels) and this was our favourite. So well thought out. Clearly they are very proud and so they should be.
